Library Director Eileen Dyer would like to invite community members to attend Swansea Free Public Library’s upcoming Haunted Library.

WHEN:

  • Saturday, October 22 from 6-9 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 23 from 2-5 p.m.

WHERE:

Swansea Free Public Library, 69 Main St.

WHAT:

Swansea community members are encouraged to attend a night of spooktacular fun at the Haunted Library where ghosts, ghouls and scary clowns will roam about. The free event is open to all ages with wonderful frights for all that attend.

As part of the Haunted Library, there will be games, take-and-make crafts, and goodie bags for the younger attendees. Goodie bags will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Haunted Library, which has been a staple for the Swansea Free Public Library, has yearly themes and this year’s theme is “Welcome to the Creepy Circus!” Attendees can expect frights from creepy, scary members of the circus.

“In recent years, we’ve had to dial back our Haunted Library in response to the pandemic, however, we are pleased to once again restore this event to its former glory and go all out this year,” Director Dyer said. “There will be no shortage of frights and treats so we encourage all to join us for some spooky fun.”

The event is run by staff and volunteers from the Swansea Free Public Library and sponsored by the Friends of the Swansea Library and The Ryan Kelly Memorial Fund.

Community members should note that the Library will close at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, to set up for the Haunted Library event. The Library is closed on Sundays but will be open exclusively for the event.
