Town Administrator Mallory Aronstein and Director of Engineering & Highway Services William Anderson would like to remind Swansea residents of changes that have been made to the town’s Solid Waste program.

On July 1, the Town of Swansea switched its curbside solid waste and recycling contracting services to its new vendor, EZ Disposal and Recycling.

Residents should note that there are no changes to the trash and recycling curbside pickup process and that they must continue to use the special Pay As You Throw (PAYT) bags for their trash. To find locations where you can purchase bags and tags, click here. Recycling should still be placed in the town-supplied recycling container.

PAYT bags are $3 per large bag (30 gallons) and $1.50 per small bag (15 gallons). Bulky item tags are now $35.

Yard waste, including leaves, grass and yard trimmings, will be collected beginning in the second week of April and will end the first week of December. Residents will be limited to 10 brown bags of yard waste per week.

As part of the town’s new contract, additional holidays have been added to the pickup schedule. Trash services will be delayed a day should an observed holiday fall on a weekday. The following holidays shall be observed New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Patriots Day, Veterans Day, and Juneteenth.

Residents should also note that as part of the town’s change in vendors, residents’ Solid Waste Disposal Yearly fee, which is billed semi-annually in September and March, will now be $200.

Residents with any questions, or those who need to report a missed collection or are in need of a cart repair are asked to call EZ Disposal & Recycling at 781-233-2211 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

After 4:30 p.m., residents are able to leave a message and a customer service team member will return their call the next morning. Residents can also email the customer service department at team@ezdisposalrecycling.com.
